Grenada Spice Island - Places to See

Grenada Spice Island - Luxury Caribbean Villa

Known as the Spice Island of the Caribbean the scents of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and ginger waft on balmy air, over the idyllic island of Grenada.

Enjoy the laid-back life style of Grenada’s capital St George's, stroll along the palm tree lined white-sand beaches, go off the beaten track on the hiking trails of The Grand Etang National Park or dive the coral reefs circling the island. There are so many things to do on a visit to Grenada, the only problem is fitting it all in.

Grenada is fast becoming the place to be for relaxing and unwinding, and it's not difficult to see why. With fabulous beaches of white sand and crystal blue water, loads to do and great nightlife Grenada is that little slice of paradise you've been dreaming of!

The Grenadian Islands
There's more than one island to explore on your Grenada holiday. The largest is Grenada with over 40 white sandy beaches and its colourful capital St George's overlooking the historic Carenage harbour. A short 90 minute boat ride away is much quieter Carriacou with its secluded white-sand beaches, and nearby is the lush one-mile-wide paradise island of Petit Martinique. These three islands stretch over 60 miles of aquamarine and azure sea and make up the most southerly country in the Windward Islands.

History of Grenada
There is plenty for history-lovers to explore in Grenada, including three military forts that offer magnificent views of the harbour, the exquisite Georgian architecture of the Houses of Parliament, the well preserved examples of French and English colonial architecture and the fascinating artifacts housed in the National Museum.

One of the most popular attractions for those wishing to learn more about Caribbean history is Leapers Hill. This hill, situated just north of Sauteurs is the site in which the Carib Indians destroyed their race rather than surrender to French Colonists in the 17th Century.

Weather in Grenada
Tropical paradises need heavenly weather, which is exactly what you get in Grenada. Temperatures average 28° Celsius with gorgeous sunshine every day, though the rainy season runs from June to November with the possibility of the occasional heavy shower.
